"You can be Black, Hispanic, or Asian; you can wear Manolos and Prada. You can be… hip, dynamic and be a scientist." (StPhillips.org)

A Rock Star scientist educating about the wonders and possibilities of science. Jennifer Stimpson is a science teacher who aims to engage students by sharing real-world applications of scientific concepts. Formerly she worked for the Drug Enforcement Administration to help solve federal crimes. But she realized there was a vacancy in science education. She has initiated the Young Women’s Leadership Council at a Dallas ISD Magnet campus which was an innovative approach aimed at teaching leadership training to young women, empowering them to grow their talents beyond high school. She is the first African American woman at the University of Northern Iowa to graduate with a Master’s degree in Environmental Chemistry, she wants girls and children of color to know anyone can be a scientist.
