"I think girls need to see that women can hold all these roles, and they need to see that women in science are diverse in many ways. We’re not the old stereotype, we’re not just ‘nerds.’ We’re exciting, we’re cool. They need to see that these are great careers that help people and society."

If she can SEE it she can be it, literally! Meet eye expert Dr. Danielle Robertson, Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Director of the Advanced Dry Eye Specialty Clinic. She is both a doctor and a scientist who studies eyes. Danielle's research is funded by the National Eye Institute. She has also received scientific research awards from Research to Prevent Blindness, OneSight Research Foundation, the American Optometric Foundation, the Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmologists Education and Research Foundation, and many more! She believes girls need to have something to relate to, and having everyday women in the spotlight makes it seem tangible.
