Uses dance to communicate science and pioneered a new field of study into the invention and adoption of marine conservation technology.
Be the solution! As a kid Kiki Jenkins always loved animals and had an interest in endangered species. In college she realized she wanted to match her passions of social sciences and natural sciences, which lead her to marine conservation technology. She is now Associate Professor at Arizona State University. She teaches, does research, mentors, and provides services to help the community. She helps solve ocean problems and believes people have to be part of the solution because we are part of the problem. Her research looks at the process of conservation in order to distill conservation theory and codify best practices, specifically exploring marine conservation, bycatch, conservation technology, tidal energy, invention, technology transfer, and diffusion of innovations.
