Provides synthetic chemists with a convenient and abbreviated approach to molecules rich with structural and/or functional diversity.
Chemist by day, ninja by night...Janis Louie is a chemistry professor at the University of Utah as well as its College of Science’s dean of student affairs. Her research in organic, inorganic, and polymer chemistry aims to create more convenient and abbreviated approaches to combat the obstacles in traditional synthetic chemistry. Her STEM influence came from her family of engineers, but she decided to pursue chemistry. She wants to pave the way to show the artistic aspects of science and research! Janis is also a mother to triplets and has competed on American Ninja Warrior. She also teaches martial arts at her family-owned studio.
