Soil, it's alive and beautiful! Have you ever noticed the different soil colors and complexity? Soil ecologist Dr. Yamina Pressler is a scientist who studies the natural wonders of soils and the organisms that inhabit them. Her work includes biogeochemistry, exploring the role of soil fauna in ecosystem scale processes in response to global change, such as how fires and drought affect soil food webs, organic matter, and carbon cycling. She expresses her passion through writing and art as well and hopes to strengthen our connection to soils through field-based education.
