Researches algebraic geometry, Euclidean distance geometry, intersection theory, and topological data analysis.
We think math is cool and so does Maddie Weinstein! Maddie spends her time as a postdoctoral researcher at Stanford University pursuing her curiosity and collaborating with other mathematicians. She finds her work most rewarding when she gets to teach students and work with them to make math exciting. Maddie studies a variety of math topics including algebraic geometry, Euclidean distance geometry, intersection theory, and topological data analysis. During her time as a doctoral student at UC Berkeley she co-ran Gender Equity in Mathematical Studies, a group that discussed research on gender diversity in STEM, volunteered as a math tutor at Willard Middle School in Berkeley, and held events to support undergraduate math majors.
