Advocates for the inclusion of girls and women in STEM careers.
Wepa! It's Dr. Greetchen Díaz, Director of the Science Education Program and Community Partnerships of Ciencia Puerto Rico. Growing up Greetchen never had role models to look up to, so after studying biology and molecular science in college she realized there were ways for her to help outside the lab. She made it her mission to make sure kids have role models at an early age and became an advocate, involved in education to make STEM more fun. She has founded CienciaPR's "Borinqueña", a bilingual blog for Hispanic and Puerto Rican Women in Science and Technology as well as coordinating "Semillas de Triunfo" (Seeds of Succeed), the first STEM Ambassador Program for middle school girls in Puerto Rico.
